Hi, I’m Allen and I’ve been the intern that looks over the Shopify blog for the past couple months. I’ll be leaving soon, so this is my guide for the next generation of interns.
If you’re reading this, congrats—you’re stepping into one of the coolest (and wildest) used goods stores in Pittsburgh: Wolfpack Trading. Don’t get it twisted—this place isn’t just about sneakers (though we have a ton of those). Wolfpack is a full-blown resale experience. You’ve got vintage tees, collectible toys, quirky electronics, signed jerseys, retro video games, one-off art pieces—you name it, it probably came through the front door at some point.
This is more than just a resale shop. It’s a community, a creative space, and a real opportunity to learn how the world of used goods, e-commerce, and small business actually works. Here’s everything you need to know to not just survive—but thrive—as the next intern.
The People Who Run the Pack
Before you jump into tasks, meet the crew you’ll be working with:
-
Adam: The man with the plan (and 1,000 other ideas). He’s passionate, opinionated, and always moving fast. He’ll definitely give you feedback—so listen up—but don’t forget to make your role your own.
-
Malcom: The behind-the-scenes wizard. He’s the reason things run as smoothly as they do in-store. From inventory flow to shop layout, he’s always making the space better.
-
Eli: Don’t let the laid-back vibe fool you—Eli is the guy running point on all things online. Shopify, eBay, Depop, photos, listings—he’s making sure the digital side of Wolfpack is alive and thriving. If you’re working on product uploads or anything online-related, Eli’s your go-to guy.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here’s the basic intern playbook. It’s not complicated, but doing it well makes a big difference.
-
2 Product Posts per Day
These could be anything from a pair of Jordans to a vintage Walkman to a random graphic tee with a dog riding a skateboard. Take clean pics, write sharp descriptions, and keep it consistent.
-
2 Blog Posts per Week
This is where you can get creative. Write about what’s trending in the store, interesting items that came in, behind-the-scenes shop life, or the culture of resale and thrifting. You’re the storyteller here—use the blog to bring Wolfpack’s personality to life.
-
2 Nextdoor Posts per Week
This helps connect Wolfpack with the local community. Be real, be informative, and let people know what’s going on. Sales, new arrivals, in-store happenings—keep your neighbors in the loop.
-
1 T-Shirt Design
You can thank yours truly for this one—I pitched it and now it’s part of the job. Come up with a design that represents Wolfpack’s energy. It’s your chance to leave a mark.
Make It Your Own
Adam will give you structure (and his opinion, guaranteed), but at the end of the day, this internship is what you make it. Whether you lean into writing, creative marketing, visuals, or something else, you have space to experiment. Just show up, put in effort, and take some pride in your work.
More Than a Shop
The coolest part of working at Wolfpack? It’s never the same two days in a row. New items show up constantly, people from all walks of life come through, and you’re always learning something unexpected. Watch what sells, listen to customer stories, and think about how that knowledge applies to the future you’re building.
Last Words from Allen
Have fun being part of the Pack. Take this opportunity seriously, but don’t forget to enjoy it. Wolfpack is a one-of-a-kind place—quirky, creative, and full of potential. Learn from the team, stay curious, and if you can, out-intern my guy Sinan (no shade, bro).
Good luck—and make something cool.
